AS CHRISTIANS WE ARE CALLED TO SHARE THE GOSPEL

But sometimes we don’t always know how to do that effectively

To help, we’ve outlined practical ways you can naturally share your faith in your daily life

  • Pray for boldness and compassion

  • Ask God to help you genuinely love the person

  • Remember: You’re not trying to win an argument, the goal is to point people to Jesus

1. Start With Your Own Heart

Before sharing with others:

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1

2. Build Relationships

Practical ways:

  • Invite someone to spend time with you

  • Ask about their story

  • Remember important details about their life

  • Serve them when they’re struggling (even if they are someone that you don’t particularly get along with)

Evangelism works best through trust

People are more open to listen to someone who cares for them

3. Ask Good Questions

Instead of starting with statements, start with curiosity

Try:

  • “Did you grow up with any faith background?”

  • “What do you think about God?”

  • “Do you ever think about spiritual things?”

  • “What do you think happens after we die?”

Listen carefully. Don’t interrupt. Don’t rush to fix.

4. Share Your Story

Your testimony doesn’t have to be dramatic

Use this simple framework:

Before Christ – What was your life like?
How you met Christ – What changed?
After Christ – What’s different now?

Follow the model we see in Acts of the Apostles when Paul the Apostle repeatedly shares his conversion story.

Keep it: honest, relatable and focused on Jesus!

5. Explain the Gospel Clearly

You can use a simple structure like this:

  1. God: God created us for relationship

  2. Sin: We’ve all sinned and fallen short (Romans 3:23)

  3. Jesus: Jesus lived perfectly, died for our sins, and rose again

  4. Response: We respond with repentance and faith

6. Address Questions; Don’t Fear Them

  • Why does God allow suffering?”

  • “Isn’t Christianity exclusive?”

  • “What about science?”

Common objections:

It’s okay to say:

  • “That’s a great question. Let me think about that.”

  • “I don’t know, but I can look into it.”

We don’t have to have all the answers

7. Invite — Don’t Pressure

  • “Would you ever consider following Jesus?”

  • “Would you like to pray?”

  • “Can I invite you to church with me?”

At some point, you can gently ask:

Salvation doesn’t happen by force, it is a decision that each of us has to make for ourselves

8. Trust the Holy Spirit

Your job is faithful and let God do the rest (see 1 Corinthians 3:6)

Some conversations plant seeds
Some water
Some harvest

9. Live What You Preach

Your life either strengthens or weakens your message.

  • Apologize when you mess up.

  • Show integrity at work.

  • Love difficult people.

Jesus said in John 13:35 that people would know His disciples by their love

10. Be Consistent, Not Just Bold

Evangelism is often slow and relational.

Keep showing up.
Keep loving.
Keep praying.
